I studied at the University of Johannesburg for 6 years and qualified in 2006. My thesis was on standardising Chiropractic care, and this is still a subject close to my heart. I want people to know what to expect when they see a Chiropractor, and that means improving spinal health by freeing every vertebrae of restriction. By improving the functionality of every bone in your spine; every other organ, ligament and muscle structure around it will benefit. This leads to pain relief most importantly, but also longevity and overall health.
I am happily married with two gorgeous children, and therefore seeing whole family’s as patients is something I enjoy as I get to know the dynamic behind each individual which can help in assessing each person. I did a post-grad course in Paediatric Chiropractic throughKiro Kids by Dr Neil Davies. Children and babiesespecially are my favourite to treat, as I love thinking of all the future spinal problems I am helping to solve early on before they become irreversible or unmanageable. Kids are very malleable physically and the results are often instantaneous and satisfying.
I have a passion for people and have yet to meet someone I haven’t learnt something from. But mostly, I gain great satisfaction in helping to relieve pain, reduce or eliminate unnecessary medication and improve overall wellbeing.
The techniques I use are listed below:
- Spinal manipulative therapy
- Joint mobilization
- Flexion distraction
- Dry needling
- Ischaemic compression
- Cross friction
- Ergonomic advice
- Home therapies and exercises
- Supplemental and nutritional advice
